Showed Up and Showed Out

Made in Englewood built an interactive art installation—6ft tall “Proud” (of one of the top-submitted words from residents). Brown Books and Paintbrushes brought books, a band, yoga and poster-making activities. 16th ward Alderman Stephanie Coleman’s office led a socially-distant “Trunk-n-Treats” trail for families. R.A.G.E. facilitated that and diaper donations. Michelle from R.A.G.E. set up a printmaking station. Children’s Home and Aid provided access to free school supplies and groceries. Grow Greater Englewood gave away tons of treats alongside a pumpkin patch art area. La Cocinita Food Truck were on site with free soup & cocoa for participants. DJ DAP and Rob Smooth kept the vibe going. Limitless Balloons helped beautify the set-up. Englewood Branded’s Bear mascot kicked it with us like only family can.

What we’re saying…

“R.A.G.E loves our neighbors, and so many of our 300+ members are eager to show that love by partnering with EAC on this. From our site checks, street teams, many planning meetings, presentations and equipment set-up that our R.A.G.E volunteers are doing, I’m glad we’re able to yet again support another impactful project for Englewood.”

— Asiaha Butler of Resident Association of Greater Englewood

“Im committed to creating the most developmentally appropriate programming so that young children and families are empowered to act on theirs and others behalf- pertaining to the black culture, healthy racial identity and social justices”
